Biscuits to DecorateRecipe submitted by Lizzie's MummyOther Preparation Time: 10 Mins (plus 30 mins chilling time) Cooking Time: 15 mins Serves: Make Ingredients 175g butter, softened 100g caster sugar 1 medium egg yolk 250g plain flour 50g icing sugar, made up as instructed Food colouring (optional) Sprinkles and icing pens to decorate(optional) Method1 Preheat the oven to 180C/ 160C Fan/Gas 4. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper. Beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in the egg yolk and add the flour and mix to a smooth dough. Gather together with your hands, wrap in clingfilm and chill for 30 minutes. 2 Roll out the dough between two sheets of clingfilm to the thickness of a £2 coin. 3 Cut out into shapes using any cookie cutter you wish and put on the baking trays, leaving a small gap around the biscuits. 4 Bake for 15 minutes, leave for 10 minutes and then cool on a wire tray. Pipe or drizzle some icing onto the biscuits and decorate with sprinkles. Leave the icing to set before storing.
